Burglary and Fire Alarm Systems

Coastal Burglar Alarm can provide solutions for all your alarm needs.  From the simplest home system with a door contact and a motion detector to complex business systems with burglary and fire protection. Our monitored accounts include many local residences in addition to all types of commercial applications such as banks, offices, retail shops and other public places.

Burglary Alarms - You can be equipped with the latest technology in burglary protection.  Some of the industry standard devices include devices to monitor doors, detect motion, and sense glass breakage.  There are also available panic buttons for holdup alarms as well as other more "high-tech" devices.  Our professionals will recommend the appropriate type of protection for each application.

Wireless - We also can provide wireless solutions for buildings where installing new wiring would be difficult or cost prohibitive.  The wireless systems we use have been proven to be secure and dependable.

Fire Systems - Fire systems can include many types of devices including smoke detectors, heat detectors and manual pull stations.  Specially designed smoke detectors can be installed in ductwork or work with the elevator recall system.  Fire pull stations can be installed for manually tripping the alarm as well as horns and strobes to warn the building occupants when the system is activated.  Even in residential applications smoke alarms can be added to most alarm panels and programmed to provide fire protection.

Cellular Back Up - We are pleased to offer a backup system to supplement your alarm communication needs.  Your alarm normally communicates using your standard telephone lines.  However statistics have proven that when the phone lines are cut that the incidence of loss and violence increases dramatically.  Rather that placing a standard cellular call our systems communicate using the secure digital portion of the cellular network.  Contact us for details on this extra measure of protection.

Local 24 Hour Central Station Monitoring Services

One of the best reasons to have a system from Coastal Burglar Alarm is our professional monitoring.  We have our own central station and personally monitor every alarm from our customers systems.  Our central station is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.  Regardless of if or when you system is alarming you can be assured that there is always some there for your alarm to "phone home" to.  Each alarm owner can decide how we are to respond for each type of alarm that your system is capable of generating.  When needed we will call the proper law enforcement department or fire department for you. Your alarm system is also capable of notifying us if something goes wrong with the system.

Access Control and Time Attendance

Many business have chosen to implement electronic control to door access for increased security and monitoring.  Whether you wish to control one door or many we can provide a stand-alone or computer controlled system to allow increased control over access to your premises and assets.

Keypad - One of the simplest systems is a numeric keypad placed at the door entrance.  To gain entry a code will be entered and the door will automatically unlock.

Electronic Timers -  Timers can unlock and lock doors automatically according to the schedule you desire.

Key Fob - Systems can be designed to be accessed by a unique key fob issued to each authorized person.

Card Access - You could issue each employee a unique card that can even function as an identification badge with a picture and name permanently printed on the surface.

Increased control - With a computer controlled system you have increased control over access.  With a few simple keystrokes or the click of a mouse you can grant or deny access to a card holder or a group of card holders.  You can even have detailed logs of who opened which doors and when!  Points of entry can be centrally managed whether the are a few feet away or on the other side of the globe.  Dedicated and specially designed software makes it easy for you to secure your facility.

Closed Circuit Television

See who is doing what and where with a system of cameras and monitors customized to your needs.

Cameras - Both color and black and white cameras are available for monitoring.  Color cameras while providing a more attractive display and sometimes needed color recognition may not be best for all applications.  Even though great advances have been made in color cameras especially in sensitivity to low light situations, black and white is still best for many applications.  Besides the obvious cost factor black and white cameras often provide the increased increased detail and contrast required for security monitoring.  Since the "best" type does vary, depend on us to recommend what will work best for you.

Multiplexed Displays - When you need to monitor more than one camera at a time use a multiplexer to display many cameras on one monitor.  A multiplexer can also prepare the signal from multiple cameras to be recorded on one time-lapse VCR.

Remote Camera Control - With the right type of camera and associated equipment you can control many camera functions remotely.  You can zoom in on a license plate on a car in the parking lot.  You can pan the camera back and forth across a warehouse.  You can tilt the camera up or down.  You could even program a pattern for a particular camera to follow utilizing the tilt, pan and zoom functions to cover a large area with one camera.

Activity Sensitive Monitoring - Many systems can be designed to be react in various ways according to activity in the monitored area.  For example in a multiple camera setup a multiplexer can be programmed to show preference to a camera with activity occurring in particular areas of the camera's view.  Alarm points could be installed to cause a system to switch to a camera when a door when it is opened.  A moveable camera can also zoom in on a area when needed automatically.

Digital Recorders - The venerable time lapse VCR has been and still is a standard piece of equipment in many CCTV applications.  However it is rapidly being replaced by digital recorders which do not use tapes at all.  These relatively new devices use dedicated hard drives similar to a computer's to automatically record and store video form your monitored system.  When the drive is full the system can automatically begin to overwrite the oldest frames of video with the newly recorded events while still storing many days or weeks of recorded video.  If desired the data can first be archived instead of being overwritten.  With this type of system you will no longer have to worry about changing tapes or cleaning the VCR heads.  It is also much simpler to find the video needed when conducting an investigation.

Remote Monitoring - You can monitor your business or home from next door or from many miles away.  When using a digital recorder a site can be monitored over your corporate computer network.  With this technology one camera, multiple cameras or many different sites could be monitored with streaming video.  We also have systems available that allow you to view your cameras over the internet or using a dial-up connection from a remote computer.
